Background

About Thomas Welsh

I am an accounting major at North Carolina University, with a concentration in financial analysis. I have worked many retail positions, including cashier, store stocker, and sales assistant. Currently I work as a customer lead for Food Lion. As a customer lead I am in charge of the cashiers during the shift, and help run the front end of the store. I am able to assist customers, as well as the cashiers with anything they may need by providing excellent customer service, showing leadership, and taking the initiative when a problem arises. Before joining food lion, I was able to obtain some accounting experience when I worked with the head accountant at Welsh Paper Company. I was able to see what type of work was to be done, and I was able to gain the skills and knowledge that could not be taught inside the classroom. I assisted with journalizing entries, recording transactions in software such as quick-books, and entering sensitive data online. Friends and colleagues see me as very hard-working and goal oriented. I am able to work as both a leader, and as part of a team. I work well in all environments, and am determined to complete the task at hand. I am currently working at food lion, while also exploring other opportunities. I would like to earn an internship with other companies to further my knowledge and abilities in the accounting field. If you'd like to connect, or learn more, then feel free to connect with me, as I am exploring all of my options.
