About Thomas Wikman

I am a Software Engineer who started out in Electronics, Robotics and Systems engineering. I’ve worked as a Software Engineer for Siemens and De La Rue the last 18 years and before that I was at ABB Robotics. As a result of my education in engineering physics and Robotics and my work at ABB Robotics I have a strong foundation in mathematics, and algorithms, as well as software. My work experience include embedded systems, creating and maintaining performance-intensive software, R&D, developing graphical user interfaces, application and system architecture, trouble shooting, testing, documentation, leading training classes, and presenting research papers. I have 20 years of experience with Visual C++ and I have strong skills in.NET, C/C++/C#, MFC, See5/C5.0, OpenInventor and WPF. I’ve worked with a lot with algorithms and especially algorithms considered to be artificial intelligence. One of my main focus’ at Siemens was to apply algorithms and heuristic techniques to enhance the software performance for various incentive programs resulting in improvements of several tens of millions of dollars.
