About Thor Schoenhoff

I’ve spent most of my life around boats. I grew up living onboard one for 15 years, which meant early exposure to shipyards, maintenance, and the practical side of life on the water. That set the course for a career in the marine industry via a degree in naval architecture, which later evolved into roles in operations, project delivery, and program leadership across shipbuilding, oil & gas, and defence. Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked in hands-on engineering, managed sustainment programs, and led business and operational change. I’ve got a solid technical foundation, but what sets me apart is real-world experience — building systems, fixing problems, and delivering outcomes that work on the ground. I bring a blend of engineering knowledge, commercial understanding, and practical leadership — shaped by years of working in and around the marine industry, not just studying it. To say it’s been exciting would be an understatement. I thrive off the energy of the industry and the like-minded people who work in it.
