About Thor Solberg

Thor has over thirty-five years of experience in project management and construction both on grassroots and brownfield domestic and international projects. Thor started his career in a pipeline fabrication shop as a student and spent 3 years land surveying in Northern Canada for oil and gas facilities in Canada. Thor has spent over 60% of career working around the world and has worked and executed projects in Malaysia, Korea, Japan, China, Europe, Kuwait, Bahrain, South Africa, Chile, Argentina, USA and Canada. Experienced in project management, construction execution and in front end planning for construction including constructability studies, contract planning, workface planning and overall project stewardship from feasibility to completion. Having specialization in construction planning and execution in Mining, Petrochemical, Refining, Gas Projects. Experience in remote construction locations such cold winter areas in Northern Canada and Alaska. Remote logistics planning for mining projects in the Andes Mountain Regions and Africa Copper belt. Specialization in Module configurations, logistics, heavy haul and site execution including construction of heavy haul construction barge docks and experience in marine dredging and construction port logistics. Specialty in driving the detailed back end phase of these projects back through commissioning, per-commissioning into construction and determining the engineering and procurement requirements during early execution. Further specialty in implementation of Advance Work Packaging processes along with data set up and implementation of of construction automation tools.
