About Thurayya Berry-Petteway

Thurayya Berry is a Certified Pennsylvania, Deleware, and New Jersey School Psychologist whose experience in the realm of psychology is vast and extensive. Beginning as an intern at Cora services, and later as a School Psychologist in the State of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, she held responsibility for the coordination and delivery of school based psychological services, which included performing functional behavioral assessments for children classified with emotional disturbance, autism, intellectual disability, and specific learning disabilities. As a Resource Specialist with School Based Social Services Division, she provided assistance to families and school staff in navigating social services systems and overcoming barriers to accessing services. She created rehabilitative service plans and offered individual counseling services at United Health and Human Services, as well as at the Center for Autistic Children. Ms. Berry’s expertise extends into the classroom setting, where she served as a substitute teacher with the School District of Philadelphia. She acquired experience in developing lesson plans, preparing instructional materials, supervising classrooms, teaching and evaluating students in grades Kindergarten through twelve, and conferring with teaching staff and parents. To further round out her knowledge, she adds to her credits her experiences with the First Judicial District of Philadelphia, where she held the position of Hearing Officer in the Family court division, as well as a Court Liaison officer as part of the juvenile court division. Thurayya Berry is a graduate of Eastern University where she earned her Master of Science in School Psychology degree, and where she attained lifetime membership of the National Honor Society in Psychology (PSI CHI). She also holds a BA in Theater Arts from Penn State University, is a Member of the National Association Of School Psychology, and is a CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor.
