About Tia Wright

Hi, my name is Tia Wright and I am a Business Intelligence Developer at Verisk Analytics. I specialize in creating analytics that helps business optimize their performance, create better business decisions, and help analyze trends. I do this through the use of visualization tools such as Power BI and Thoughtspot. As I am in the beginning stages of my career, my main goals are to develop my 'brand' in the Data Analytics sector. Bridge the gap of misunderstanding and communications between business and developers, and learn as much as I can with the resources available to me. What Sets Me Apart: Adaptability: Change is inevitable! Being able to adjust to any situation and still succeed is something I know all to well. From growing up in a predominantly black neighborhood and transitioning to a PWI, from being a first gen college graduate and transitioning to the corporate world, and supporting my team during structure change. Growth: I strongly believe that there is nothing that I don't know that I cant figure out! As an expert 'googler', I often problem solve issues through learning from other individuals struggles. This looks like reading through forums, asking my peers, watching videos, and taking courses. Personable: The narrative that technical individuals struggle with people skills does not apply to me! I have a wide range of hobbies that make connecting with others easy and fun. Humans are naturally social creatures and sometimes it takes helping someone out of their comfort zone to find common ground.
