Hands-on healthcare consultant and leader who continues to grow as an industry professional and subject matter expert. I have a passion for performing reviews of hospital service line charge description master (CDM) and educating staff on regulatory coding and billing requirements as well as authoritative coding guidelines published by the American Medical Association (AMA) and American Hospital Association (AHA). I have performed CDM reviews for all size hospitals and organizations (including critical access). I have experience in hospital outpatient provider based billing including split billing as well as freestanding clinics. I have very good understanding of NCCI and MUE edits and application of coding/billing modifiers. I am a subject matter expert in drug administration coding hierarchy (for hospital outpatient infusion services, infusion centers and oncology centers), laboratory coding and billing (including path lab as well as independent laboratories), pharmacy coding and billing and supply charge capture, coding and billing. I have vast experience in outpatient documentation, coding and billing audits for various service lines (with primary emphasis on laboratory services). I have assisted many hospitals in performing reconciliation between the hospital ancillary and clinical systems and the hospital chargemaster to assure appropriate linkage and identify any potential charging issues. I am a proven industry and hospital staff educator whether one-on-one or through remote live webinars. I am currently working on obtaining a credential for the HFMA's Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR).
