About Tiffany Oconnell

My very first job was working as a stable hand at the age 14. I learned what hard work consisted of and what it felt like to take care of another. Since then I have always enjoyed working and serving others. surprisingly though, I started college off as a history major. Thought it would be cool to be a museum curator. But my husband was active duty military at the time. He received orders to PCS, so we ended up moving to South Dakota. This is where I got my first experience in healthcare. A company was offering CNA classes and I needed a job while going to school. So, I decided to get my CNA license. Since then, myself and healthcare have been stuck like glue. I love working in the healthcare industry. Everyday is different. Full of joy, sadness, and moments you could not even imagine. Next step was getting my LPN license. And let me tell you, the many hats worn, stylishly I might add, by a nurse is never truly mentioned in nursing school. But you pull your boot straps up and just go with it! while being a nurse, I have learned so much in such a short time. Not just about my career goals but also myself. I believe my success to this day, is due to my ability to persevere. I will carry that with me in all of my endeavors. That being said, when I was working for the VA, something sparked. My career goals took a switch. I decided to go back to school and get my B.S. in Healthcare Management. I want to make a difference in healthcare, not just for the patient, but for the employee as well. I want to be apart of the innovation and push to help my fellow nurses. I am seeking for the perfect opportunity to build my experience and help bridge the gap between the business and clinical sectors. Tiff. O.
