About Tiffany Walker

I've been a Registered Nurse for 8 years, mostly inpatient pediatrics, but most recently neonatal intensive care. I also have experience with adult cardiac telemetry. I really love nursing and being able to utilize my skills and strengths to improve patient's healthcare and their experience. In my current role as a RN HEDIS Nurse Reviewer; we do a lot of behind the scenes work to ensure our members have the best patient care and experience. As a RN HEDIS Nurse Reviewer and apart of the Quality & STARS team, we assess, review, analyze, and abstract medical records and clinical documentation to close gaps in (NCQA)HEDIS measures. HEDIS measures focus on the following: experience of care, effectiveness of care, accessibility/availability of care, health plan descriptive information, utilization/risk-adjusted utilization, and electronic data system. The purpose of HEDIS is to evaluate health plans which is directly connected with health plans STARS rating and to evaluate healthcare providers; ultimately ensuring the best patient care and experience for all members. It's been a great experience to be a part of such an amazing team at Blue KC and I look forward to making a positive impact on the communities we serve!
