About Tillmann Toben

Moin, I’m Tillmann! An industrial and mobility designer by trade, I’m a versatile creative combining deep systemic, methodological and technical understanding to craft physical experiences that are driven by sustainable innovation. Outside office hours, I can be found on my road bike, roaming the woods picking mushrooms, or baking Quiches and cakes. Through the experience gained in various industries and professional settings, I developed a strong sense of structures that surround brands, services, technology and products. Transforming user demands and systemic requirements into tangible deliveries, I can drive projects from early conception to production. I believe that the more intertwined and interdependent processes get, the higher the value of designers becomes, working with and between stakeholders and connecting the threads. Collaboration is what drives me in my work. As a passionate team player, I believe that a thriving culture is one of the most crucial aspects not only at a workplace, but also when striving for sustainable innovation. Only through breaking down silos and embracing open source approaches can we design for a truly circular, regenerative future. Being one of the main contributors of emissions and material throughput, the transportation sector will undergo significant changes on the way to becoming more sustainable. At the same time, the way people live together and their ability to get around will define the quality of life even stronger in urban areas, where spatial and social mobility are deeply connected. This makes the intersection of environment, infrastructure and vehicles a fascinating area to design in.
