Tim Baltes is a copywriter, drummer, and social media strategist who works with drum manufacturers, distributors, and retailers by day and publishes Instagram posts for followers by night. With five years in music retail operations, almost ten years in corporate copywriting and technical editing, and two decades of musicianship under his belt, Tim uses his love for technology and his keen organizational skills to help clients get things done. Tim improved customer satisfaction and communication at Music Go Round – Kenosha by independently conceptualizing and prototyping product information tags for drums and guitar amplifiers. These tags were refined by corporate leadership and are currently used throughout all Music Go Round franchises. In recent years, Tim tackled managing Uline’s private label reference materials, crafting product and employee newsletter copy as well. At Roland Corporation, he wrote product copy for top-selling electronic instruments and spearheaded continuous improvement projects. And today, he's aiding Gateway Technical College with many of their marketing and communication efforts. Tim spends his nights and weekends helping drum industry titans like Drum Factory Direct, Sabian Cymbals, Franklin Drum Co, and Revival Drum Shop with social media management/strategy, copyediting, copywriting and website maintenance. With individual clients including Michael Urbano (drummer for Sheryl Crow, Third Eye Blind, and Smash Mouth), Nic Collins (son of Phil Collins and drummer for Phil, Genesis, and Mike + The Mechanics), and Curt Bisquera (drummer for Johnny Cash, Mick Jagger, and Elton John), Tim helps drumming legends build their personal brands, empowering them with the technical skills needed to grow an audience and ultimately reach career goals. You can also find Tim drumming live, posting videos on several social media platforms, recording drums for 21st Century Fox, Warner Records, or Disney, and producing video content for several drum manufacturers.
