About Tim Barrett

With more than 25 years in the meetings and events industry, I thrive on bringing people together whether through world-class conferences, immersive tradeshows, or dynamic special events. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with corporate, association, and social clients to strategically source, design, and execute impactful experiences across the globe both in-person and virtually. Beyond event execution, I’m passionate about mentorship and knowledge-sharing. For 11 years, I served as an instructor for the University of Georgia’s Event Planning & Meeting Management certificate program, and I’ve been fortunate to speak and serve as a host for organizations such as Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia, the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB), and Meeting Professionals International (MPI) chapters. I believe in giving back to the industry that has given me so much. As a dedicated volunteer, I currently serve on MPI’s RISE Awards Committee and the Explore St. Louis National Customer Advisory Board. I’ve also held leadership roles with MPI Georgia, the MPI Foundation, the International Live Events Association (ILEA) Greater Atlanta Chapter, the Allie Awards, and ACVB. My commitment to professional excellence has been recognized with the 2023 Hayward C. Cox, Jr, CMP Continuing Quality Award and the 2020 Chapter Leader of the Year Award from MPI Georgia. The meetings and events industry is ever-evolving, and I’m dedicated to staying ahead of the curve. I’ve held my Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation since 2005, maintaining recertification every five years. I’ve also expanded my expertise with certifications in Virtual Events & Meeting Management (2020), Pandemic Compliance (2021), and most recently, Contract & Negotiation Strategy (2025).
