About Tim Becker

I am an MA English in Rhetoric & Composition and a former Graduate Teaching Assistant in the First-Year-Writing Program at NC State University. I am an award-winning teacher and scholar: I received the Graduate Student Association 2018-2019 Award for Excellence in Classroom Teaching and the Department of English 2018-2019 Distinguished Capstone Award. Along with a MA English degree, I have earned NC State's Teaching & Communication Certificate, and I have a BA in English and Philosophy (double major) with a History minor from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and I graduated with Highest Honors in English and Highest Distinction. I am fascinated by the power of language and its role in shaping knowledge practices, and I have found success in both academic and creative writing as well as professional communication, leadership, and conflict resolution. I have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills as well as customer service and management. I am a creative and disciplined researcher and I have experience teaching and training on a variety of subjects. I am seeking a career that will allow me to help students by leading, educating, tutoring, and mentoring in order to better their lives.
