Classroom instructor, providing training for staff at the Library of Congress. Training ranges from office automation (e.g, MS Office), to concepts of Cataloging and Selection, to use of in-house Integrated Library System and related applications. Particular strengths in delivery, communication skills, patience, and ability to convey knowledge in a reassuring, non-threatening, and light-hearted manner that facilitates knowledge transfer and skill enhancement. 24 years of ‘rave’ reviews and course evaluations. Well known for injecting humor and liveliness even into sometimes-dry topics. Comfortable in a variety of approaches — lecture, demonstration, Q&A, hand-holding, even ‘letting the student(s) drive.’ Whether as the ‘sage on the stage’ or the ‘guide on the side’, my goal is to provide learning in a way that works best for YOU. Open to free-lance training in Word or PowerPoint, whether on hourly-fee basis to individuals or volunteer basis to organizations.
