Background
About Tim Cera
Florida Licensed Professional Engineer with a wide range of leadership and technical experience in the development of hydrodynamic, hydraulic, hydrologic, and weather models and the management of the required input data sets and computational requirements. Technical lead for teams of engineers, hydrologists, and programmers. In the course of my career have developed dozens of pre and post processing tools to increase the productivity of our modeling environment. Hydrodynamic model experience: Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC) Computational Hydrodynamics 3-D (CH3D) Hydrologic model experience: Hydrological Simulation Program - Fortran (HSPF) Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) Weather model experience: Weather Research and Forecast (WRF) model Computational cluster: Installed, upgraded, and managed a Linux High Performance Cluster. My programming projects described in detail at https://timcera.bitbucket.io/: tstoolbox - Calculations, transformations, statistics, and plots for time-series. plottoolbox - Plots data with several plot types, including; time-series, xy scatter, box and whiskers, etc. mettoolbox - Command line and Python library for meteorologic calculations. Includes disaggregation and evaporation functions. tsgettoolbox - Command line and Python library to collect meteorologic and hydrologic data from web services. Pyslice - Templating engine to develop input model data sets. Especially useful for parametric or Monte Carlo simulations. SWMM: swmmtoolbox - Read the Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) version 5 binary files. HSPF: wdmtoolbox - Create, read, and write Watershed Data Management (WDM) files. HSPF: hspfbintoolbox - Read the Hydrological Simulation Program - FORTRAN (HSPF) binary files. HSPF: hspf_utils - Some HSPF model utilities to create a water balance, table of parameters values, …etc. Wrote TAPPy - Tidal Analysis Program in Python was the first program to apply nodal corrections at each observation, which significantly improved analysis of long time series. Includes tidal analysis, tidal filtering, filling of missing data, and prediction. The general purpose functions I pulled out of TAPPy and I included in Numpy in the 'numpy.pad' function or put into 'tstoolbox'. astronomia - Calculation of astronomical ephemeris for the Sun, Moon, and Planets. TSPROC - Worked with Wisconsin USGS to develop TSPROC, a Time Series PROCessor for model parameter. TSPROC is written in Fortran90 and C. tsblender - Drop-in replacement for TSPROC, written in Python.
