Tim Christen is Chairman Emeritus of Baker Tilly International, Ltd (BTI) and Baker Tilly US, LLP (BTUS). BTI is one of the world’s ten largest accounting firm networks. The $6B organization operates in over 140 territories. BTUS is the branded U.S. member firm of BTI and, with revenue in excess of $3B, is among the ten largest firms in America. Tim served as Chairman of BTI from 2017-2021 and Chairman and CEO of BTUS from Under Tim’s leadership BTUS grew revenue from $28MM to $520MM and ranked as one of the fastest growing accounting and advisory firms in the United States. Tim is an experienced corporate director having served as Audit Committee Chairman for two successful initial public offerings (IPO). He currently serves as Chair of the Board at Mayville Engineering Company (a NYSE listed value added manufacturing partner) and as a Director on the boards of Expensify (a NASDAQ listed cloud-based spend management software platform that helps businesses simplify the way they handle money) and Sub-Zero Wolf Appliance Group (a privately held manufacturer of category leading premium kitchen appliances), and Chair of the Board of CPA.com (a provider of innovative strategies and solutions for CPA firms and their clients). Additionally he serves as Vice-Chair of the board of trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) which is the parent organization of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Tim is among the most well-known and highly respected leaders in the global accounting profession. He served as 2015-16 Chairman of the board of directors of the American Institute of CPAs and continues to serve on the AICPA governing Council. Tim also serves on the Integrated Reporting and Connectivity Council (IIRC) which is an advisory body to the IFRS Foundation trustees, the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB)and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). He has been recognized by Accounting Today as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the accounting profession and Inside Public Accounting as one of the five Most Admired U.S. Managing Partners. Tim has served on numerous not-for-profit boards including the Lyric Opera of Chicago, WMC Foundation, Special Olympics WI and the United Way of Dane County.
