About Tim Cornell

In 2019 I graduated with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Geographical Information Systems and Environmental Science from the University of South Australia. My degree provided me with the conceptual understanding of the terminology and mechanics of the GIS discipline and it's associated software ESRI's ArcGIS containing the following programs: ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcView, ArcGIS Online. The degree also included learning the basics of programming in using the Python Software and applying it in conjunction with ArcGIS Online to create interactive maps stored in Apps. Initially when I started my tertiary journey at UniSA, I was planning to become a surveyor until I was exposed to the numerous applications that GIS can be applied to in real world scenarios which peaked my interest. I diverged from my original plan into eventually what I would hope leads to a career in the GIS industry. I am currently undertaking post graduate studies in GIS at Flinders University with a goal to securing an internship in 2023. In my personal life, I regularly attend the gym, play volleyball & enjoy camping. I also have had the rewarding experiences of travelling overseas to countries such as Japan, New Zealand & the USA meeting different people and being exposed to places and cultures different to my own.
