About Tim de Vries

Hello! I'm Tim De Vries, an early career Project Manager and Systems Engineer, with aspirations towards a position in designing, constructing, testing, and operating spacecraft. I graduated in May 2019 from Loyola Marymount University (how time flies!) with a B.S.E in Mechanical Engineering. During my time at LMU, my upper division coursework focused on the design and testing of spacecraft and launch vehicles, with a specific emphasis towards Systems Engineering and Propulsion Systems. There, I nurtured an interest in space that grown into a passion for exploring the final frontier, and improving life on Earth through our exploits in space. With several watershed programs on the horizon as we enter a new space age, I am excited about the prospect of working on and leading teams at the cutting edge of human achievement. In the three years since my undergrad, I have been working in the Portland, Oregon area in the Construction industry, performing Owner's Representation, Project Management, and Commissioning Services as part of inici Group, LLC team (now a division of Cumming Management Group). In that time, I have had the opportunity to work on several projects in the infrastructure, higher education, and athletics sectors, and have learned a tremendous amount from my colleagues, clients, and industry partners. I am most proud of the client relationships we have formed through delivering high-value projects large and small, with a focus on exceeding owner expectations in terms of schedule, budget, and long-term value. When I'm not obsessing over the latest advancements in the space industry or working to deliver top-quality construction projects, you will find me traveling, playing golf, softball, or basketball, fanatically rooting for the Portland Trail Blazers, Timbers, and Thorns, cooking, playing a video game, or trying something new. I consider myself curious and passionate by nature, and love to learn little bits about lots of things. In a past life, I served as an editor and editor-in-chief for my high school and college newspapers, with a specific focus in sportswriting and sports editorial. I love meeting new people, exploring new opportunities, and learning as much as I can about the world around me. Feel free to say hello!
