About Tim Ferree
For most of my professional career, I built and managed a distribution channel for Personal Lines Insurance. This is a long-cycle, consultative sales process, working with the decision-makers in the agency. Once I signed the agency to represent my company, I then trained their staff to sell and service our product(s). As a top Marketing Representative, I was often selected to train new reps. I was chosen to work on new product introductions in numerous other states, and to lead a unit designed for that purpose. Several times, I built distribution networks “from scratch”. I have revitalized previously underperforming territories. On several occasions, I used technology in new ways to examine the performance of my producers to better identify underperforming agencies, and either reform or eliminate them to improve profitability. In 2002, I took a different path. I became an at-home parent to our children. During this time, I was involved in some volunteer activities, as well as a couple of at-home businesses. I was greatly enriched by these experiences. A couple of years ago, I was able to re-launch my full-time career. I became an Insurance Agent, specializing in Life and Health coverage, primarily for the Senior market. This new role is challenging, but tremendously rewarding. people turn 65 every day, and need some assistance as they begin this new chapter in their lives. I quickly learned that my previous experience training and developing high-performance teams transferred to this new environment. Within a few months at Bankers Life, I was helping train newer agents. At RetireSafe, my responsibilities are much more focused on creating, coaching and retaining an outstanding team than they could have been at Bankers.
