About Tim Gander
I have been fortunate to work with organisations at the leading edge of educational transformation in Aotearoa, most recently with EPIT. Across roles I have partnered with hundreds of educators in schools, kura, and tertiary settings. This has helped me appreciate the complexity of the challenges we face and the care required to address them well. At EPIT I support practical collaboration through Communities of Practice, capability-building evaluation, and programmes focused on inclusion, literacy, digital access, careers pathways, and youth wellbeing. I also help steward the AI in Education Community of Practice so educators can explore thoughtful, equitable use of AI in teaching and learning. My current focus is research and practice in AI in education. I work with educators to use AI well, develop practical resources, and study impacts on equity, assessment, and teacher learning. I also supervise doctoral research in related areas, supporting emerging scholars to connect careful inquiry with real-world change.
