About Tim Garrett

For the last thirty years I have worked in Management within the Public Service and Aboriginal Community Organisations. My experience has been predominantly in the executive management of corporations. Delivering human service focused programs in the arena of welfare and client advocacy. My work has included implementation and project work in community social and economic programs. I have broad range of experience in Social policy and the delivery of service programs to the Indigenous community, which encompasses tenancy and housing, education, health, legal and human rights issues. My experience working within the Community sector I was responsible for preparation and management of all annual operational grant funding. Including the development of annual financial budgeting, ensuring reporting obligations to committee and funding bodies were achieved within operational deadlines. This experience involved the management of a range of diverse business programs. I have extensive skill in organisational development and operational direction. I have a working ability in supporting other executive committee members in all matters regarding the direction of the agencies operations, as senior management I would provide direction for staff, establish work plans including the development and contracting of research and consultative projects. Additionally I ensured the Executive Committee decisions were carried into workable actions. I have skills in negotiation with stakeholders for program funding allocation, expenditure and establishment of performance goals/achievable outcomes.
