About Tim Grieger

I am currently working at Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Wörth, Germany. As a Senior Manager for Quality Management, I am responsible for the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Quality Management System and it’s related certifications, the Quality Management of Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks and various other cross-functions ensuring the adherence to the high Mercedes-Benz quality standards across business units and countries. I have enjoyed a diverse, exciting and challenging professional career at Daimler Trucks. Starting in Manufacturing Engineering I have built up a profound knowledge and experience in many business and operational functions throughout various national, international and project assignments. I have contributed to the successful launch of the commercial vehicle brand BharatBenz in India, the set-up of a new production facility for Mercedes-Benz Trucks in North Africa and I was responsible for the establishment of a new Mercedes-Benz Truck Manufacturing entity in Indonesia. Beyond the organizational aspects, the implementation of lean process design and continuous improvement mindset in early stages has been one of the key success factors for ramping-up teams, facilities and processes. I lead numerous small and large-scale improvement and efficiency projects such as Kaizen rallies and manufacturing excellence projects already during ramp-up phases and besides achieving project and efficiency targets we have established a sustainable CI culture by involving all employees from operator to management. What I have learned especially during my international assignments is that knowledge transfer and sharing experience is not about lecturing, explaining and expecting others to follow accordingly. It is about understanding people, employees, culture and local requirements and challenges in the first place. Moreover, the openness to change your own point of view and question established processes to find new solutions adapted to local requirements is a key element to convince others to support change.
