About Tim Hance

As an English teacher at Durham District School Board for over a year, I have been applying my skills and knowledge in secondary education, history, and music to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for my students. I have also been a supply teacher at the same board for two years, covering various subjects and grades, and adapting to different classroom environments and needs. I believe that education is a reciprocal relationship, where both the teacher and the students can learn from each other and grow together. I value collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking, and I strive to foster these skills in my students through interactive and interdisciplinary approaches. I also aim to inspire passion, dedication, and compassion in my students, by sharing my own enthusiasm and involvement in both academic and musical pursuits. As a professional musician on evenings and weekends, I enjoy performing and composing in various genres and styles, and I often incorporate music as a tool for teaching and learning in the classroom.
