About Tim Hofmann

Curiosity and a desire to learn have always been strong themes in my life. My passion for understanding people started when I took a political science class, and ended up taking another, and another, and another as an undergrad. This desire for understanding people combined with a need to be of service led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Counseling. With my business background it seemed natural to start my counseling career working in an Employee Assistance Program. This afforded me the opportunity to hone my assessment and treatment skills with individuals, couples and families. At the same time my EAP work opened the door to group consultations, development and presentation of life skills trainings, and leadership development. Private practice was the next step, along with taking on a leadership position in my professional association as part of the team fighting for and eventually getting a licensure bill passed through the state legislature for Behavioral Health Professionals. Along the way I found an enjoyment of teaching as a part-time adjunct instructor at the college and university level. Finally, I added a spiritual component to my counseling and teaching by joining a church staff. And just for fun I play drums at a local college jazz band once a week! Common misspelling: Tim Hoffman
