Hello! I’m Dr. Tim Huijsmans, a Veterinarian and Wildlife Conservationist, with a profound interest in wildlife reproduction and the intricate dynamics of wildlife ecology. I completed my PhD at the University of Ghent in collaboration with the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research, where I focused on the complexities of maternal investment in mammals. I currently work as a scientist in the Department of Reproductive Management at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research in Berlin. In 2012, I co-founded Faunawatch, an international foundation dedicated to animal welfare and conservation. At Faunawatch, we conduct wildlife research on animal populations, organize educational programs, and manage a turtle and tortoise shelter in the Netherlands. As a public speaker, I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge in wildlife conservation, evolutionary biology, and animal welfare with diverse audiences.
