About Tim Immerzeel
Tim studied sociology at the Utrecht University. He obtained his master degree (in 2010) and PhD in sociology at Utrecht University (in 2015). In his doctoral dissertation, he studied the mobilizing potential of populist radical right parties in contemporary Western and Eastern European democracies. His main research interests are radical right populism, political participation, climate sociology and the sociology of religion. After his PhD, he was working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Sociology department of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, but after 2 years he decided to become a high school teacher in Rotterdam where he taught introductory courses in social sciences. Currently, he combines his passion for teaching and preoccupation with climate change as an education developer of a national minor in climate sociology at Utrecht University. Moreover, he is an author and editor for a publisher in teaching methods for secondary education.
