About Tim Johnson

Tim develops and implements credit strategies and practices across FirstBank products to create balanced and profitable portfolios within the risk appetite of the bank. Tim brings 35+ years of experience in financial services to this role. His background in risk management, credit, mortgage, municipal finance, retail banking, commercial lending, consulting and regulatory relations has proven valuable in helping FirstBank meet its profit and growth objectives. He joined the bank in as a credit analyst and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Loan Administration in In 2013, he was appointed to the position of Chief Risk Officer. His recent focus is on commercial credit as Director of Corporate Credit. A native of Lexington, Tenn, Tim has been active in a number of community organizations throughout his career. His volunteer work has included serving on the boards of the Henderson County Literacy Council, the Henderson County United Way, the West Tennessee United Way, and the Henderson County Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. In addition, he has served on the boards of the Lexington Rotary Club and and the Tennessee Business and Industrial Development Corporation. Tim is a graduate of the University of Memphis, receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985 and his Master of Arts degree in economics in 1987. His continuing education includes certificates from the Southeast School of Commercial Lending, the Southeast School of Advanced Commercial Lending and numerous lending and credit related seminars and classes.
