About Tim Karcher

Tim first came into contact with electromobility during his studies at Bochum University of Applied Sciences when his student team developed a road-legal, fully electric solar vehicle, the SolarWorld GT. With this vehicle, the team took part in the renowned “World Solar Challenge” in Australia in 2011. The success continued: Tim and his team completed the first solar-electric circumnavigation of the world and were awarded the Guinness World Record for the “longest distance traveled by a solar-electric vehicle” - 29,753 km. After studying in Bochum, Tim worked as a consultant in pre-development in Munich and Zurich, focusing on charging technologies. At the same time, he completed an MBA program at the Elite Business School in Zurich and Athens. In 2016, Tim was instrumental in the founding of today's innolectric AG, where he has been Managing Director and CEO since 2018. As a passionate engineer, generalist and strong team builder, Tim is firmly convinced of the future of electromobility. He is actively committed to the decarbonization of society and uses his interdisciplinary knowledge and technological understanding to drive innovative projects forward. He is particularly interested in the role of renewable energies in the transformation towards a more sustainable future. Traveling is an indispensable part of Tim's work. Only by being on the ground can you gain the perspective needed to make informed decisions.
