About Tim Kaucher

With over 20 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, I am passionate about developing and implementing innovative solutions for the construction industry. As the Director of Engineering for the Southwestern U.S. at Simpson Strong-Tie, I lead a team of engineers and technical experts who provide engineering support, literature review, test lab programs, and technical workshops and seminars for our customers and sales force. I also serve as a member of the Riverside Leadership Team, responsible for shaping the strategy and direction of our facilities in the region. I am motivated by the mission and culture of Simpson Strong-Tie, which values quality, service, innovation, and collaboration. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, having worked in both public and private sectors, and having earned an Executive Certificate in Leadership from the University of Notre Dame. In my current role, I leverage my skills in structural engineering, structural analysis, and civil engineering to oversee the engineering and training departments for the Southwestern U.S. I manage the engineering department activities, ensuring proper staffing levels and coordination of engineering support for our customers and sales force. I also oversee the regional and national literature review and development for our branch, as well as the City of Los Angeles Research Reports for the company. Additionally, I supervise the test lab programs and activities, and present at technical workshops and seminars. I have also contributed to the Simpson Strong-Tie Structural Engineering Blog and the Simpson Strong-Tie DIY Done Right Blog, sharing my expertise and insights on various topics related to the construction industry. I am proud of the achievements and recognition that I have received from the company and the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California, and I look forward to continuing to grow and learn as a leader and an engineer.
