Background

About Tim Kirkby

I am a licensed architect, certified general contractor, certified planner, certified Passive House consultant, LEED AP, and NCI-certified charrette facilitator, with over 18 years of experience in the industry. As a designer, my comfort zone ranges from traditional architectural styles to cutting-edge modern, always backed-up by sound building science. As an urban designer, my areas of expertise include traditional neighborhood design and transit- oriented development. My passion for placemaking extends beyond my professional duties; I am a member of The Urban Guild (CNU), Lambda Alpha International (land economics society) and a former member of the Park Ridge Plan Commission. I have extensive experience on all sides of the entitlements process. As a planner, I've overseen the preparation of strategic plans for municipalities throughout the Midwest. As an architect + urban designer I have a successful track record shepherding complex projects through entitlements, including Indiana's first and only LEED for Neighborhood Design Certified project.
