About Tim Knight

I am a Chartered Project Professional with extensive experience of complex delivery, enterprise transformation and building high-performing teams. My leadership success is based upon flattening the power gradient to create a psychologically safe environment, foster connections, and build trust. This, combined with providing clarity of intent through translating business strategy into team objectives, has allowed me to create high-performing, inclusive, multi-disciplinary teams able to self-organise to deliver outstanding customer-focused results. My approach has created the environment where each person can be the best version of themselves, leading to strong employee engagement (net promoter score +45) across IT, finance, HR and security teams. I’ve created an internal talent incubator by embracing apprenticeships and sponsoring the development of a career pathways framework, to support all individuals to progress their development. I’ve driven operational excellence through the application of LEAN principles coupled with a focus on continuous improvement and strong stakeholder engagement. I’ve transformed multi-function shared services delivery, applying ITIL principles; negotiating service level agreements (SLAs) and defining key performance indicators (KPIs). I’ve successfully led multi-million-pound portfolios, recovered strategically important programmes and led enterprise transformation. I’ve led complex delivery using various project management methodologies (including Agile), into a wide range of customers in multiple domains. I’ve sponsored delivery of complex programmes for both internal and external customers; from business case development, through programme delivery, and into service / support provision. I received Chief of Defence Materiel Commendation for recovering a politically critical programme supporting operational deployment of aircraft to frontline forces. I have also led site social events which raised over for a local charity, and created a vibrant campus atmosphere.
