About Tim Lafountain

As a combat veteran and former Infantryman (11B), I proudly served in the U.S. Army for over 10 years, including 42 months deployed to combat zones in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other parts of the Middle East. My experiences in these high-pressure, dynamic environments shaped me into a resilient leader and problem solver, equipped with strong communication and decision-making skills. Throughout my military career, I advanced to the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6), where I had the privilege of serving as a Platoon Sergeant, leading soldiers in diverse and challenging situations. In the final years of my service, I transitioned to the role of an Army Recruiter (79R), helping individuals find their purpose and guiding them through the enlistment process. This role further honed my skills in talent acquisition, relationship-building, and understanding the needs of both candidates and organizations. After my transition to the civilian sector, I leveraged my leadership and interpersonal skills to pivot into Human Resources. I am currently a Human Resources Generalist at Buck Knives, where I continue to develop and implement HR strategies that support both individual growth and organizational success. My passion for fostering positive work environments, employee development, and operational efficiency has driven my career forward in the HR field. I am deeply committed to continuous learning and growth, both personally and professionally. I believe in the power of strong teams and strive to create workplaces where people are empowered, supported, and motivated to reach their full potential.
