About Tim MacAvoy

I'm currently Head of Product for Radius Networks. We develop, connect and empower employee networks around the world, maximising their potential and impact, wherever they are in their journey. We offer leadership training, consultancy, coaching and bespoke in-house summits. I am responsible for the overall learning content and experience, working closely with emerging leaders in Fortune 500 companies across the globe. I've also been a senior content designer for Skype/Microsoft, Government Digital Service, and Groupon. As a designer I worked across product, HR and marketing teams on web, apps, bots, voice UI, and commerce experiences, with the aim to make services more accessible and user-friendly. I also advised on strategy, communications, and creative direction. I'm enthusiastic about creating great UX for people, solving problems, and balancing creativity with realism. I have created tone of voice/brand guidelines, scripts for marketing videos and photo shoots, and envisioning projects. I also host charity, community and educational events, and pub quizzes. I served as the Director of InterTech, the award-winning LGBT+ Diversity Forum for tech companies in the UK (including Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Facebook and more). I provided leadership for the huge membership and regularly talk about diversity in business to the press. I also enjoyed my time on the other side of the press, working across print, online, radio and TV as a writer and broadcaster. I particularly loved my time as a film critic, travelling Europe to be a juror at film festivals, and hosting/producing a radio station for LGBT+ youths. I like writing, with several plays performed in London and Edinburgh Fringe, as well as a radio, sitcoms, poetry, songs, and short stories. I've also worked as an actor, comedian, director, and theatre producer. Teaching and learning are always fun. I've taught inclusive design, meetings and leadership; broadcasting; sword-fighting and slapstick. I enjoy learning anything, at the moment I continue to learn about the social history of drinking and drinks trivia for a podcast I host called "No Tasting Notes".
