About Tim Maste

Like to enquire into things, prefer to replace repetitive work with automated tests. However, this is not my primary interest at all; I'm a pragmatic tester, quick ping-pong with developers to resolve bugs ad-hoc (instead of piling on the backlog), communicate with colleagues / third parties to remove impediments, observing things from different angles. My drive to look into thing, question, demand, to not accepting a thing. this attitude towards live raised my interests in a totally different direction. I've been intrigued by the work of professor Iain McGilchrist since 2014, author of "the master and his emissary" & "the matter with things"(reading the latter at the moment), about the views of the left- and right hemisphere and how that shapes our take on the world and how the world shapes us. Apart from that philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti has also been an inspiration. Philosophy in turn has changed my view on testing; seeing the 'gestalt' instead of fragmented take on testing (focussing on the parts, mechanical, procedural. and in the end dull and lifeless). Apart from philosophy I enjoy mycology as a hobby, follow a whole foods plant-based lifestyle and workout for physical health and love to read.
