Newly-retired (September 2022) CEO of Mobile Klinik, Canada's largest and fastest-growing store network of professional smartphone and tablet repair services. I retired from McKinsey & Co. in September, 2017 after 28 years as a leader of McKinsey’s global retail and consumer practice, including leading the Americas retail practice for many years. I am a Board member at Dollar General Corp, the $26 global leader in the discount retail sector, and a Founding Partner at Venn Growth Partners, a growth-equity focused PE firm investing in consumer, healthcare and education. Mobile Klinik Professional Smartphone Repair is the leading provider of high-quality “while-you-wait” repair services for mobile devices. Growing from 6 stores in 2017 to a 200-store cross-Canada network in 2022. My McKinsey practice included major retail clients across Canada, the US, the UK, Australia, and South America with my focus on developing and implementing turnaround and growth strategies for consumer services, food, general-merchandise, fashion and multi-channel retailers. I also worked extensively on development of new retail formats, lean redesign and the application of lean-operations techniques, the redesign of merchandise flows from the distribution center to the shelf, supply-chain optimization efforts, and the redesign of purchasing and supplier-management approaches. I co-founded McKinsey Analytics, a global group of more than 1500 consultants bringing advanced analytics capabilities to help make better business decisions. I worked with clients in the retail, packaged-goods, banking, telecom, insurance and consumer-healthcare industries to generate and turn relevant consumer insights into marketing & sales excellence. I am a former board member of Kids Help Phone, Canada’s free 24/7 service offering professional counselling, information, referrals and texting support for youth. I have been a board member of Trillium Health Partners, one of Canada's largest public hospitals, as well as a longtime United Way board member.
