About Tim McGuirk

As the deputy director of communications in the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, I deliver integrated messaging to stakeholders across the Commonwealth's 351 cities and towns. My team manages 14 state departments within the executive branch, including state police, fire, and correctional services whose gifted professionals care deeply about their public duty and responsibilities. In my previous role, I served at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. As the communications manager, I collaborated cross-functionally to earn key media placements, build an institution-wide internal communications initiative, and welcome creative film professionals. This position means a great deal to me and I feel honored to have contributed at one of the most important sites in the world. Beyond my work and in an effort to broaden my skills, I earned a Master's in Management at Harvard University's Extension School in 2024.
