About Tim Pearson
I am a naturally curious and people focused HR practitioner, with over 23 years’ experience across a broad range of HR and people change activity, working in a variety of settings, including Health (NHS), and in the Education sector. I have wider previous experience in other private, and public sector unionised organisations. My specialty is in working in complex environments; understanding the strategic imperatives of an organisation and supporting management teams to deliver people focused changeling with change. I achieve this through my unique approach in quickly building effective personal relationships with key stakeholders, and understanding the wider business objectives, translating these into tangible deliverables through effective HR people practice. I have been successful due to my excellent interpersonal; influencing; employee relation; and change management skills, combined with a strong team ethos and approachable and flexible management style. I use this to deliver both operational and strategic HR, along with the implementation of HR related projects. I am currently working in a fixed term role (to March 2024). As well as delivering fast paced change in a technology setting at AQA, along with being the people lead for Hybrid working implementation, I have nine years NHS experience including at a large Trust as an HR Business Partner; at NHS Commissioning Board, as an Interim Head of Workforce; and as Head of HR at NHS North West Strategic Health Authority. These NHS roles encompassed, providing HR strategic input and guidance to Clinical Commissioning Groups, and Commissioning Support Services, as these organisations came into being. This included expert advice on all issues regarding pay, transfers and recruitment, and responsibility for ensuring HR best practice and effective partnership working is integrated into all processes. During this time my substantive post was as the Head of Human Resources for the NHS North West, providing an internal HR function to 466 staff comprising of clinicians, professional managers, and admin staff, split across several geographical locations.
