About Tim Pierce

I am licensed to practice pharmacy in Louisiana and Tennessee. I am also licensed to practice law in Tennessee. I have been admitted to practice law pro hac vice by the Supreme Courts of eight other states. My professional experiences have given me a unique perspective on the intersection of healthcare and law. My focus is patient safety. Improved patient care only comes from fully examining the fitness and flaws of each method of healthcare delivery. I believe in recognizing good patient safety practices so that they may be continued and in identifying those practices that are deficient so that they can be changed. As a pharmacist, I am constantly seeking ways to ensure that patients receive safe, effective and efficient medication therapy. As an attorney with almost two decades of litigation experience, I know how to identify when patient safety lapses have occurred due to improper delivery of care. I am also able to see where they are likely to reoccur without meaningful changes. I am a member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. I am certified in medication safety by ASHP-ISMP. I have also been certified as a Medical Malpractice specialist by the National Board of Professional Liability Attorneys and by the Tennessee Commission on Legal Education and Specialization.
