About Tim Quick

Originally from Edinburgh I studied at Newcastle University where I graduated with First Class Honours. After working in various practices in London and the US, I joined Foster + Partners where I spent 12 years working on a wide variety of projects including art galleries, libraries, sports stadiums, schools, bridges and private houses. At Foster + Partners I worked in France for several years on high-profile projects including the Médiathèque in Nîmes and the Viaduc de Millau. I also led the first phase of the conversion of the Treasury Building project in Whitehall, London. I joined Formation Architects in 2001 as a Director and have led many of the practice’s major projects working at all stages of the process from design through to construction. I have taught at various architecture schools in the UK and France. I sit on various Design Review Panels and have been central to restructuring and growing the practice over the last 15 years. Formation Architects is an award winning AJ100 practice based in London. Now 70 strong we are specialists in Residential-led developments, Hotel, Commercial, Mixed-use and Master-planning. Formation Architects became an ‘Employee Ownership Trust’ in 2016.
