About Tim R. Dobbs

I am currently the regional director of Chess Wizards. I manage San Francisco along with the Bay Area and assist in the Detroit program. I am the hiring manager with over 40 employees and oversee 75+ accounts. Chess Wizards is the largest chess school in North America that teaches chess to children K - 8. I supervise all daily activities including scheduling, payroll, quality control, customer service with principals and parents and most importantly, I make sure my teachers provide a safe and healthy environment for hundreds of children daily. I am well traveled, working in places Santiago de Chile and teach business executives at Banco de Chile. I specifically teach advanced business techniques such as takeovers and mergers, management style, training, and many other important business trends. I also lived Mexico City for two years and taught the same curriculum. I find it very rewarding to help my students understand international markets and their aspirations in them. My hospitality background is where my true passion lies. In my twenties, I was a professional tour manager in North and Central America driving international clients for up to six weeks through multiple countries. My responsibilities included daily activities, meal preparation, travel logistics, safety and of course, the satisfaction of my guests. On and off for a total of five years, I was a bartender for high-end restaurants and special events. In the heart of London, I launched and managed a now very successful American style cocktail bar called Off Broadway. I grew up In rural Michigan then traveled to 45 countries and worked in 17 of those, that experience gives me an in-depth view of people and their cultures.
