Background

About Tim Raethel

Throughout my career, I have gained invaluable experience and expertise in breaking news coverage. I quickly assess situations, determine where the news is happening, and capture vision to tell the story. My focus is always on delivering high-quality content for the audience, while also prioritizing safety and professionalism. Whether working with fellow crew members, members of the public, or law enforcement officials, I always prioritize collaboration and empathy. Some of my credits include coverage of the “Papatoetoe Tornado”- being a part of the team to win “best coverage” at the Voyager Media Awards last year, several weeks worth of vision of the Auckland crimewave for a "because it matters" piece with Amanda Gillies earlier this year and countless lead stories for the 6pm bulletin.
