About Tim Rankin

I have most recently been a senior designer based in the Chicago division of Global Experience Specialists, Inc.(GES), I have over 30 years of experience as a designer in the exhibit industry, working with a broad range of companies including Philips Lighting, Merck pharmaceuticals, EcoLab, McDonalds, and Boeing. Throughout my career, I have worked with clients in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, technology, telecommunications, automotive, and industrial equipment industries. As a senior designer, I led the design team for the Pontiac/GMC account for 9 years, creating highly successful, cutting edge Auto Show exhibits. In addition to my Trade Show and Auto Show work, I have also created well received permanent installations and corporate Solutions Centers for clients including EcoLab, Motorola, Caterpillar, General Motors, Nypro and Insight. Prior to joining GES, I worked in product design, point of sale design and for several small exhibit companies. This varied background gives me a strong knowledge of materials and construction techniques as well what it takes to make it happen on the show floor. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign. I am skilled 3D Studio Max and Adobe Creative Suite.
