About Tim Reilly

I am a creative, committed and motivated design director with over 15 years of industry experience. I truly believe in designing with integrity and purpose. Being a Design Director to me is leading and supporting a team in creating concepts and collections that are in line with the brand vision and exceed consumer expectations. My approach in being a Design Director is simple. Bring confidence, leadership, clarity and vision. In managing a team I focus on how I can enable them to do their best. Through guiding, nurturing and being the foundation that gives them the freedom to create. Give clear goals and communicate openly. Be there to listen, inspire, motivate and direct during the design process, while promoting a culture of creative responsibility, not design for design's sake. Be creatively smart. Solve consumer needs. Take measured and calculated design risks that move the brand forward. As a designer I have a long history across many product types. I also have an excellent understanding of both the design and business side of product which I feel is vital in creating successful product. In my experience, it is key to use consumer insights, creative thinking and common sense whilst embracing a spirit of 'can do' to expand on market opportunities using design as a tool to achieve that. I have extensive knowledge of driving a team through the entire design process, from unearthing market and consumer insights alongside recognising trends and opportunities that inform creative direction, to the logistics of the design process. I'm as happy to get hands on with product as I am in leading high level creative concepts.
