Background
About Tim Roberts
After leaving High School so many years ago, my life path took me through Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey's Clown College, then on to employment as a clown at Circus World, where I eventually ended up as Boss Clown. In 1980 I left the States to travel Europe and have remained here ever since. With several other ex-pats and a French national we created "L'Institut de Jonglage"(eventually shortened to "L'Institut"), a comedy based theatrical juggling company. This led to an involvement with Le Centre National des Arts du Cirque (CNAC), France's national circus school as juggling instructor and Vocational Training Coordinator. In I moved to London to undertake the role of HE Courses Director for the newly created BA(Hons) Degree in Circus Arts, which now includes a two-year Foundation Degree as well as a 1-year PG Certificate in Circus Arts. HE circus arts education is what I deeply believe in and in 2012 I was awarded a Higher Education Academy National Teaching Fellow Award for the work I have accomplished so far.
