About Tim Rogers

Tim is a highly experienced human services manager and senior social worker who has worked across various health, welfare and community settings since 1985. His aim is to bring respect, compassion, creativity and service together and to advocate for a society that enables all its members to thrive. His work focus is alleviating the challenges of children's cancer. Away from work he is a keen bike rider and has established a Chapter of the international charity "Cycling Without Age" on the Sunshine Coast with a group of like minded community friends. He is also Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of Management for Cycling Without Age Australia Inc and is increasingly involved in advocacy for cycling and active transport generally. Collaborative, strengths based, and narrative practice are central to Tim's work with individuals, groups, organisations and communities. He has a particular interest in the effective use of these approaches with people whose health and well-being are challenged, and in situations of palliative care, grief and loss. He also has extensive experience in acute care and crisis work, and brings a range of highly developed skills and knowledge to that work. Tim has a strong commitment to and extensive experience in providing clinical supervision, professional development and mentoring. Tim is the National Advocacy and Collaborations Manager at Redkite. Previously as Redkite's Head of Professional Standards and Practice (March 2013 - Jan 2022) and General Manager of National Services (December 2005 - March 2013) Tim led a growing team in developing, delivering and continuously improving Redkite's psycho-social support services nationally. Prior to those roles Tim was Assistant Director of Social Work and Senior Social Worker (Paediatric Oncology) at Royal Children’s Hospital and Team Leader of the Child Development Service. He has also worked extensively in child protection, youth justice, grief and loss, and community development. Tim has a Master of Counselling degree, Bachelor of Social Work degree and Bachelor of Arts degree, and is passionate about continuously learning.
