About Tim Serdar

My career as an investigator and former law enforcement professional spans over 20 years of service with the Lake Bluff Police Department and the U.S. Coast Guard. I have specialized in areas including police and military training, insurance fraud, financial crimes and forgery, multi-jurisdictional criminal investigations, crime control strategy, site security, and crime detection and deterrence technology. During my tenure with the Lake Bluff Police Department, I wore many hats as it relates to my contributions as a police investigator, instructor, and officer. The most rewarding role was during my time as an investigator, where I had my hand in hundreds of cases often incorporating local, state, national, and international elements. Some of my career-wide investigative and loss prevention experience includes: 20+ frauds and forgeries 60+ identity thefts 50+ burglaries 50+ thefts (including retail) 25+ criminal damage to property 15+ death investigations I have also dedicated much of my professional history to being an energetic leader who empowers teams, serves as a talent mentor, and advocates for the wellbeing of personnel. My passion for public service, safety, crime prevention, and risk/threat mitigation drives me to enhance the performance of my colleagues, ultimately leading to safer communities, businesses, and workplaces. I consistently use innovative technologies and methodologies to inform my training strategies. As I look forward to the next phase of my career, I am seeking to leverage my existing skills and build new ones in the civilian market. Since retiring in 2001, I have worked as a production and shipping supervisor, and most recently as a warehouse manager.
