About Tim Steines

I have been a dedicated law enforcement officer for over 32 years with 18 in supervision. My experience is in patrol operations, criminal investigations, narcotics, SRO and and community oriented policing. Qualifications in Criminal Investigations come from serving over 3 yeas as Detective and over 6 years in various narcotics units. Emergency Response Team – Assistant Commander and Training Coordinator with 14 years of tactical experience, to include being an adjunct tactical instructor with the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) since 2003. Having served as a member and commander of the Quad City Clandestine Laboratory Team (Meth Team) since 2003. Qualifications in Community Oriented Policing include developing liaison officer positions for several housing complexes as well as serving as the Housing Authority Liaison Officer and Supervisor for several years. Also developed and coordinated the "Lights and Sirens" program at the high school to help educate students of the responsibilities that police officers and fireman have in their careers. I have also had the privilege of serving on the Rock Island Police Honor Guard; honoring fallen officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their communities. I am also a Professor at Scott Community College in the Criminal Justice Department.
