Skilled at translating strategy to business plans using a transformational, no-nonsense, collaborative approach. I currently lead the Labour Relations team at Athabasca University. This included leading all LR-related matters with four unions (collective bargaining, grievances, hearings, arbitrations, labour board matters etc.) I have taught business, HR, organizational behaviour and marketing courses at Ambrose University, Trinity University and the University of Calgary (School of Psychology and Haskayne School of Business). I am a highly regarded instructor and won the 2020 President's Award for Teaching Excellence at Ambrose University. My previous experience involves key HR leadership roles in five different industries (utilities, municipal government, oil/gas, healthcare and social services). I have led large-scale reorganizations, facilitated executive strategic planning sessions, and used my HR roles to improve customer service and business results wherever I have led. I hold two graduate degrees in leadership and the CPHR designation. I have published 20+ articles on topics such as social networking, organizational design, recruiting, HR and other leadership-related topics. I am certified to teach Personality Dimensions courses and am a Founding Editor of the Western Talent & Innovation Review (wtireview.com). I consult with organizations and have facilitated executive retreats, strategic planning sessions, organizational redesigns and coaching sessions.
