Background

About Tim Vannaman

am a database administrator and architect who dives deep into the world of data management, working to streamline operations and save companies substantial expenses. I have had the privilege of crafting data solutions for companies with multibillion-dollar revenues, benefiting over 2,500 clients along the way. But I am not just about the big picture; the details matter to me too. Through automation, I have managed to trim over a million dollars in data storage costs. One of my standout achievements? Picture a 7-petabyte storage system operating seamlessly as a result of my automated backup strategies. And when it comes to audits and compliance, I ensure everything is meticulously managed. At Epsilon, Inc. I lead the charge globally, collaborating with major financial players like Bank of America, Capital One, and GE Money. It isn’t just about getting the job done for me; I am passionate about sharing knowledge. I want to make sure the entire team is equipped with the skills they need to keep things running smoothly, no matter the time zone. Prior to this, I served at Agilysys, Inc. in solutions architecture, specializing in disaster recovery solutions for DB2. I have also set up Oracle systems at IBM, helping clients tackle their trickiest queries. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Science from Angelo State University, a foundation that's been crucial to my journey. When it comes to tech skills, I've got a toolkit that includes Redshift, Shell Scripting, Netezza, AWS, and a whole array of other tech expertise. If it's data-related, you can count on me. Let’s connect.
