About Tim Welch

Tim is a dynamic business strategist with a proven ability to drive tactical execution of plans that achieve sales and business results in highly competitive markets. His diverse career has shared several common traits; positive business results, sales excellence, increased operational efficiencies and effectiveness, high performing teams and the precise management of margins to grow profitability. Most recently, Tim helped a large infrastructure customer reduce costs and improve efficiency and effectiveness by centralizing services, defining roles and responsibilities that were documented in a knowledge management system, and setting up a program-level organizational structure for dramatically increasing the adoption of LEAN principles, documenting RACIs for repeatable processes, and change management to improve business performance. Tim helped a national Canadian business reform their approach to public sector customers, revising how ordering, supply chain, and customer support were handled. The model resulted in year over year sales growth in excess of 7% annually in a competitive space, with 5-year sales growth of over 65%, and grew margins by over 800 basis points. Known for his results orientation and organizational skills, Tim has a high tolerance to both stress and ambiguity and an excellent sense of humour. He is flexible, self-sufficient and adaptable. He communicates easily with a broad audience and helps bring out the best in those around him. Fluently bilingual, he has lead large, multi-functional teams of sales, marketing and operations professionals to business success. At the same time, Tim has served a 25-year non-profit volunteer career with Scouts Canada, beginning as a section leader and then Group Commissioner, Council Commissioner and National Commissioner (3-year term) for all of Scouts Canada, an officer on the Scouts Canada Board of Governors and a member of the Board on the Scouts Canada Foundation.
